Stand Up Awareness Week

Stand Up Awareness Week is an initiative of BelongTo, an Irish LGBTQAI+ youth organisation. Held annually, Stand Up Awareness Week is a nationwide initiative with the aim of students taking time to take a stand in their schools against bullying that many LGBTAI+ students experience. This year it was held from 16th-20th of November. Friday 20th marked Rathdown Senior School’s first Rainbow Day, in participation of the BelongTo campaign. Each year wore a different colour of the pride flag to school and the occasion will hopefully be the first of many Rainbow Days in Rathdown. This day represents inclusivity, awareness and community which are central to the ethos of Rathdown School.
